Teacher. Leader. Lifelong Learner
About Me
When I am not working, I love spending time with my husband, puppy, and bird. I am so lucky to have such a supportive and loving family.
Traveling is a true passion of
mine. I enjoy learning about
different cultures and customs.
I have been to Africa,
Tahiti, Israel, the Netherlands
as well as many states within
the United States. While earning
my BA, I studied school systems
and policies in the Netherlands
and participated in the Disney College
Program in Walt Disney World.
While my dream of becoming a teacher has come true, I am still fighting for my other dream of creating a cancer free world. I started my own Relay for Life team when I was a Sophomore in college. Relay for Life is an organization that raises funds for the American Cancer Society. My team and I plan fundraisers all year long leading up to this emotional 24-hour event. On the day of Relay for Life the entire community comes out to celebrate life and to remember those loved ones who lost their battles to cancer. The money we raise goes towards funding research for all types of cancers, rides for cancer patients, and educational programs informing others on the facts of this terrible disease. I am continuing lead in this fight every summer.
Goals For My Students
Everyday I strive to instill a life-long love for learning in each of my students. I recognize that each student learns at different paces so I will differentiate lessons based on their individual needs. I will teach my students to become risk takers and to take responsibility for their learning. With encouragement, compassion, and teaching the Seven Habits for Happy Kids, my students will become successful goal setters and push themselves to heights they never before thought possible.
